The Philanthropic Ways of Eric Lefkofsky

Eric P. Lefkofsky is a 47-year-old entrepreneur who traces his roots in Detroit, Michigan. Mr. Lefkofsky is a Jew and the son of Bill and Sandy. He is also brother to Steven and Jodi. Eric also happens to be an incredibly educated individual. In his lifetime, Mr. Lefkofsky has been at one-time a student at the Southfield-Lathrup High School, the University of Michigan, and the University of Michigan Law School. Apart from being a corporate expert, Eric Lefkofsky has devoted much of his adult life to philanthropy. Since 2006, Eric has been part and parcel of the Lefkofsky Family Foundation, a charity society that Eric established in partnership with Liz.

Through the Lefkofsky Family Foundation, Eric has been able to make life easier by initiating research programs meant to improve the quality of education, arts, healthcare, and human rights. In the one decade that the Lefkofsky Family Foundation has been in existence, it has centered mainly on helping children and has also supported more than fifty organizations across the globe. Four years ago Lefkofsky joined The Giving Pledge, an outfit that brings together wealthy individuals in the world so that they can contribute to community courses throughout the divide. To date, The Giving Pledge boasts of having raised more than $365 billion since 2010. The good thing about The Giving Pledge is that members can always contribute in their lifetime or during death.

So far, the Lefkofsky Family Foundation has concentrated its efforts to helping communities living in Chicago with the highest percentage of donations going to arts and culture. Charter Schools have also been on the receiving end of Eric’s good will. Mr. Lefkofsky together with his wife Liz has joined hands to initiate after-school programs and give scholarships to members of the youth that come from low-income families. Although the couple has centered mainly on improving the lives of people living in Chicago, they have also diversified into other areas with the aim of improving health standards. Cancer research has been the primary focus of Lefkofsky and Liz. Therefore, Eric Lefkofsky has not only made wealth but also decided to use it so as to help the underprivileged members of society.
